About Robert NewtonBob
is a member of the Rotary Club of Greensboro, having joined the club in 1987.
His sponsor was his Dad, PDG Ernest Newton, himself a Rotarian since 1935. Grandfather
L. L. Newton and son Cory round out four generations of Rotarians in the Newton
family. Bob served as President of the Greensboro club in 1998-99, the year the
club became at the time the largest 100% Paul Harris club in the Rotary world.
Bob has been active in international service, and has traveled to Russia, Moldova,
and Mexico in support of Rotary projects. Bob
is President of the Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation in Greensboro,
the latest of six positions in health care management and finance he has held
since graduation from the University of Wyoming and a tour with the Air Force.
He and his wife Donna have lived in Greensboro since 1982 following their marriage.
The merged families include six children and twenty one grandchildren. Bob and
Donna enjoy their family, travel, and a wide range of community activities and
involvement. 2003
