Richard D. King
A Rotarian since 1968, Mr. King is a
member of The Rotary Club of Niles (Fremont) and has served RI as a district governor,
International Assembly discussion leader, committee member and chairman, director and
chairman of the Executive Committee. He has authored several articles on leadership,
membership, and community service for The Rotarian magazine. Currently, he
is a trustee of The Rotary Foundation. Mr. King has received The Rotary Foundation's
Distinguished Service Award and the Citation for Meritorious Service for his support of
its international humanitarian and educational programs. He is also a recipient of
the PolioPlus Pioneer Award for extraordinary service to the goal of polio eradication.
On September 13, 1999, Mr. King was
unanimously nominated for the office of President of Rotary International for the year
2001-2002.
