Greensboro Airport Rotary members will meet at the lovely home of Tanya and David Feagins for a Social/"Funraiser" event on October 24, 4:30 pm til 7:30 pm. We will enjoy booze, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and the camaraderie of our fellow members. Here we will also kickstart our Christmas Wreath Sales event, a traditional Airport Rotary fundraiser to fight polio.
Greensboro Rotary will be billing members $100 per year for two years or payable by April 2027.
Guilford Rotary has emailed and encouraged its members to contribute to the Polio Fund available on My Rotary website. They will also make the same request for contributions at Tuesday's club meeting on October 21st at 12:30 pm. Meeting is at the Weir-Jordan House, 223 N. Edgeworth Street, Greensboro, N.C.
Southern Guilford Rotary will meet on October 28th at 6:30 pm at Sarah's Kabob Shop 5340 West Market Street, Greensboro, N.C. at 6:30 p.m. We will celebrate World Polio Day with the World's Greatest Meal. Each member is asked to donate the cost of a missed meal at no less than $10.00 to benefit Polio Plus. We will also have a presentation by Dr. Marc Benard on his Operation Footprint program. We will witness some of the impact he and his distinguished group of physicians and volunteers have made on children and adults who need corrective surgery for impairments due to birth defects as well as residuals from Polio.
Summit Rotary's Polio Plus chair Mike Sigmon plans on showing the Bill Gates Video about the Gates Foundation and Rotary's efforts to end polio on October 24th at 12:30 pm. He will also request for folks to sign up for the Polio Plus Promise! He e-mailed the District Polio Plus Form out to all club members on October 17th with a message about our special efforts that day.
Surry Sunrise Rotary, Mount Airy Rotary, and Yadkin Valley Rotary clubs have partnered with Angry Troll Brewing locations in both Mount Airy and Elkin for 10% of profits to Pints for Polio.
