We also do not want to forget about the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires that have devastated the lands and communities in California. As our District Governor Ron Pierce mentioned earlier this month, our Executive Committee approved up to a $5,000 District match of funds given by clubs to aid those affected. The two Districts that were affected are District 5300 and District 5280. Each has set up its own 501(c)3 Wildfire Disaster Relief Foundation fund and is accepting donations. What our District asks of your club is to send your email receipt (if paying by card) or a copy of the cancelled check to our DGND Anant Venkataraman (anantv7690@gmail.com) who will track these contributions. Once the $5,000 is reached, our District will send our match based on where the donations were given. Please see the below links to give to the Districts accordingly:

I’m sure you’ve been following in the news the devastating wildfires and raging winds fueling those fires that are affecting areas in California like the Pacifica Palisades and areas near Malibu and Santa Monica.
Our brothers and sisters in District 5150 with Rotary clubs in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties as well as Rotary District 5280 covering the 67 Rotary clubs in the greater Los Angeles area, are doing their best to help just as we did and continue to do in Western North Carolina.
We wanted to send this out to you to let you know that the clubs in the area HAVE created a web page that shares ways you or your club can assist them should you choose to do so.
As a District, the leadership team will be meeting next week, and we will be discussing how D7690 will support those districts as well and what that support may look like.
Please keep our fellow Rotarians in your hearts and prayers as they deal with the aftermath in the days and weeks to come.
