Buck Campbell resigned in July 1983 due to health problems and PDG Chip Wood served a second term.

Buck was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1924.

He was married to Carey Armfield Campbell and they have one daughter.

He served in the United States Marines in World War II.

He graduated from Guilford College in 1950 with a degree in Economics.

He was an insurance agent with Mass Mutual Life Insurance for over 30 years.

He served as president of the Greensboro Association of Life Underwriters and was a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

Buck joined the Rotary Club of Summit in 1957 and served as president in 1962-63.

He served as Treasurer for the district for almost ten years.

In July 1983, shortly after taking office he developed heart trouble.  He resigned and PDG Chip Wood agreed to serve the year as district governor.  Buck had open heart surgery at Emory University in Atlanta in late July, 1983.

Buck died on September 18, 2019.
